MAIER, Bernice K. age 87 of East Troy passed away peacefully at her home on July 14, 2008. She was born on October 19, 1920 in East Troy to Porter and Katherine(Burns) Greene. She graduated from East Troy high school in 1938 and from the University of Wi-Whitewater Teachers state college in 1942. She taught in Walworth schools and was a substitute teacher for St. Peter’s Elementary. She married Francis(Butch) Maier on August 21, 1948 and they were lifetime residents of East Troy. She was a member of St Peter’s Catholic Church, St Peter’s Ladies Sodality,Charter member East Troy Historical Society, and an RSVP volunteer, she helped at the St Peter’s Fish Fry’s, the St Peter’s Fall Festival as the ticket taker and she was The picture lady at St Peter’s School. She is survived by 2 daughters Barbara(Charles) Biegel of Ill., and Beverly(Donald) Hartranft of East Troy. 4 grandchildren Dawn(Tim) Givens, Bryan Powell, Jeremy(Jessica) Hartranft, and Angela(Mike) Urban, 5 Great grandchildren Amanda, Trevor, Justin, Evan, and Callie, 1 sister-in- law Jean Greene, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Butch, a brother Robert, and a nephew Mike. A visitation will be held Thursday July 17, 2008 from 5pm - 8pm with a Mass of Christian burial on Friday July 18, 2008 at 11am with a visitation from 10 am until the time of service all at St Peter’s Catholic Church 1981 Beulah Ave. East Troy.
