TESS, Leila B. age 90 of East Troy joined her beloved Gib on Sweetest Day Oct. 18, 2008. She was a teacher at East Troy Elementary School for 32 years teaching several generations of the same family. She was an honorary member of the WCAREA, the East Troy Women’s Club, Lake Beulah Yacht Club, and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She loved arts and crafts, knitting, flowers, living at the lake, and spending time with her family. She particularly enjoyed cooking and entertaining for her friends and family who gathered often for picnics, card games, and parties of all kinds. She was a Lake Beulah resident for over 70 years. She was able to stay in her own home with the wonderful caregivers she has had especially Peter Gawronski. They enjoyed outings and shared a passion for “sweets”. She was proceeded in death by her husband Gilbert, sister Doris Smoliner, brother Norman Haacke, a grandson Mathew Grinnell, her parents and her in-laws. She is survived by her daughters Sharon(Alan) Grinnell, and Patricia(Michael) Cropp, grandchildren Michelle(Jon)DuJardin, Patrick(Meghan) Cropp, Joshua and Andrew Grinnell. Three great grandchildren Ian Newton, Cody and Mikayla Cropp. Two nephews Allan and Kenneth Haacke, great nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday Nov. 1st 1pm at The Heritage 3223 North St., East Troy, Wi. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family for memorials to Good Shepherd Lutheran School and an elementary educational scholarship.
