Obituary for Lucrecia Pawlak

Lucrecia Pawlak (72) passed away peacefully at home on August 10, 2019 — after a courageous and stoic battle with cancer.
Born in Boquete, Panama on March 20, 1947 to Carolina Sanchez and Antonio Jaramillo, Lucrecia was the fourth, and only girl, of five children. She graduated from high school in David, Panama. On December 8, 1985, she married Gene Pawlak at St. Josephat’s Catholic Church in Milwaukee. Later in life, Lucrecia attended University of Wisconsin - Whitewater and University of Northern Iowa to earn her Master’s degree in education. She then worked for fifteen years as a language teacher, positively impacting the lives of hundreds of students.
Lucrecia was an avid member of St. Peter’s Church. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, canning, gardening, and playing cards and dominoes.
Lucrecia is survived by her husband Gene Pawlak; five children: Geno (Lisa) Pawlak, Lucretia Williams (Jimmy Breitenstein), Lynette (Jason) Gruszynski, Earl (Lynda) Williams, Christine (Chad) Kittles; and 13 grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to either the St. Pius V Shrine, 30 Miller Road, Lake Zurich, IL 60047 or the Shrine of our Lady of Guadalupe (https://www.guadalupeshrine.org/donate).
